Every year for Earth Day, Yarmouth Life Skills does our part by participating in a massive clean up of the streets of Yarmouth. This is done collaboratively with the community. We collect garbage and recyclables from our roadways and around our uniquely beautiful town, with the goal of removing unsightly litter and protecting the environment. Our participants are given reflective vests, gloves, garbage bags, and in some cases garbage sticks. The participants have fun cleaning up the town and enjoy making a difference in their community, with the idea of doing their part environmentally. We hold small competitions such as who can find the strangest piece of garbage, or which group can collect the most. Everyone has a lot of fun while doing something positive for the community. A great activity!
